Baraki beats finally broke through last start, and unsurprisingly led from start to finish. I am a firm believer that this horse has to lead to win. I feel that there is enough speed in this race through corporate larrikin and right honourable to make it a risk in this open final race. Paseo Del Prado's first 2 runs this preperation have been super and has shown enough for me to put him on top. Was flying home late last start and would have got Baraki Beats within a couple more strides. Kheleva gains the services of Randy Tan who is in quite a rich vein of form at the minute and keeps riding home winners, and at at decent prices too. Will enjoy the step up to 1400m and will be coming home late alondside Paseo Del Prado. Tonto resumes from a spell after finally showing some form of grit and guts last campaign and certainly be winning some good races. Has won over 1400m before and normally runs well fresh. Full steam ahead is first up with the Jim Taylor stable but is a horse which generally needs a senior jockey on board but definitely has ability. Zarantz has good first up form and with Harvey taking the ride is not one to ignore but is one that will improve as the distant increases. Futurism is not a horse of mine but was solid last start running on into 2nd behind vengabus and on that run should be closely watched.

I would have suggested Spangled Impact, but even her times were not fantastic looking towards a Karrakatta Plate. She would want to improve considerably. 2YO's need to be running low 1.05's over 1100M to be considered a threat in a KK. 1.07 on a track rate...

Well that's the reason I ask in the first place. But most years, the eventual good 2YO's and thereafter, haven't emerged by this time.

agree regarding Spangled Impact. Maybe we haven't seen the best 2yo's come out to play yet?

In the 2YO race, they didn't break the minute, and the last 600M wasn't particularly fast either. So could any of the smarter types on here let me know if any 2YO's so far this season have impressed, or are they at this stage just a bit pedestrian ? I just kee...
