Civil Rights has been desperately unlucky, treking three wide throughout first-up when only beaten just over a length to Long Over Due on a leader bias track. Meets that galloper 2.5kg better at the weights on this occasion. Second-up sat outside Via Laurentina and Fathnoxious in a race where the first 600m was run 1.5 seconds faster than average, those two leaders dropped off to run last and second last and Civil Rights whacked away into a very respectable third. From barrier 1 should get a cosy run behind the speed and be ready to rock and roll as they round the home bend. Dark Alert was withdrawn last start after it sprung a shoe having lashed out in the barrier stalls. Makes it 5 weeks between runs, an obvious concern. Chorus Boy beat Civil Rights by 0.8 lengths at the same weights last campaign, he is in form and makes him a very attractive eachway prospect at $11.
