Bayatorio off a soft run

Selections

.

.

.

Bayatorio should simply get the run of the race from barrier 1. O'Donnell jumps off Shilling to replace William Pike who has elected to ride Tick Tick Bloom over Bayatorio, Star of Husson, Arcadia Rose and Step Right Up giving punters a lead as to his opinion on the Durrant trained filly. Bayatorio has won two in a row in strong fashion, yet to miss the money in seven starts and looks a good eachway gamble at $7. Will box seat behind the leaders from the inside gate and I'm putting my faith in O'Donnell to get him into clear running as they round the bend and capitalise on a soft run in transit. Tick Tick Bloom has a horrible barrier draw, will run from from the extreme outside and it will take some W.Pike brilliance to get a position in running. Settled midfield last start but from the draw will probably have to drag back to almost last to avoid getting caught 3 and 4 deep. Star of Husson is another with a wide draw who will settle at the rear of the field and steam home late, look for her to improve in the Belmont Classic over 2000m. Woken is a bit of an enigma, if he gets his way out in front then he can keep kicking as he did two starts back over a mile holding off The Cavalieri, First Flight and Fancy Feet when heavily supported. Has won 4 from 8 at Belmont Park and 2 from 3 over a mile. Regularly runs against older, more experienced gallopers and returns to 3 year old company. Cockram will let him roll and he'll probably lead, $41 is a big price.

Now what about Wednesday? Priceless Cat (race 4) seems like it could be a goer. A really stupid bloody name for a horse but it might be something to look at.
