I found it incredibly hard to split Wombies Legacy and Illusion of Light in my form and it was no surprise to see them installed as joint favourites when fixed odds were released. Both runners were heavily supported last start, Illusion of Light getting the job done for Harness Trainer-Driver turned Throughbred Trainer Aldo Cortopassi in Midweek company, $6.50 into $4.60 while Wombie's Legacy was backed from $5 into $3 in the wet on a Saturday when finding traffic and finishing 3rd to Flying Time. There looks to be an abundance of top end speed with Wombies Legacy, Inok, War Prince, Times Are Changing, Coruscation, Miss Meyet and Jack 'N' Sam all capable of pushing forwards from their respective alleys. Inok missed the kick last time out and was never likely, has to lump a massive weight but will charge across from an outside gate. Times are Changing has been freshened up and can fly the gates and War Prince loves to rush forwards. For that reason I have gone with Illusion of Light to continue her winning ways and give Aldo his first Saturday victory with what seems to be his only horse in work. Wombie's Legacy is in exceptional form but Illusion of Light just has the barrier advantage which should see O'Donnell position up perfectly in behind the speed and get a lovely run throughout. Tough little sprint with a myriad of chances.
