R7. Schweppes WATC Derby - 1 January 1970

Is $2.00 a Delicacy?
I have two main concerns with Gun Filly Delicacy. Firstly, she has had 5 runs this preparation already culminating in the Natasha over 2200m then a fortnight later the WA Oaks over 2400m and finally a fortnight until this weekends WATC Derby, however, in saying that she has won her last 3 races by 3.5, 1.8 and 2.5 showing no signs of stopping. Secondly, where does she get to from barrier 1? Everybody knows Bob Peters hates leading and would probably do 15 to life if Pike lead on Delicacy and got beaten, but if he sits midfield tucked away against the fence and a 100-1 pop is being lined in chalk by the forensic police officers dead at the 600m mark then he will need a Steven Bradbury type run to present itself in order to win. I am going to put my faith in the Wizard to have a plan in place and get the job done on the even money favourite and tip her to record a third Group Victory and push her career earning beyond $850 000 including Bonus'. Boom Time went from maiden galloper to Listed winner in the Melvista running the 2200m faster than Delicacy did in the Natasha. He is the danger. Raffle for third, I'll go with Special Delivery at odds.

I could pick my nose yesterday. It bled. I'm out for 3 months. Only if you bled from both nostrils!
