A small but quality field to go around and fight it out for the Scenic Blast Stakes. Red Ora returns first up without a trial after being tipped out when flying home with the 59kg to finish 3rd in the Hannans Handicap. Pike jumps off silverstream to ride Red Ora and on the minimum I find it very hard to see him getting beaten. Loves the distance, loves the track and labelling him my best bet of the day. First among equals was a solid run in the Andretti stakes behind lucky street missing out by the smallest of margins. Is undefeated at the distance, has race fitness on its side and is the only danger to Red Ora. Rebel King is second up after a good run behind Sheidel and should fill out the minor placings. Silverstream is finally back to 1200m, however has not done overly much apart from the fast finishing 4th in the Winterbottom back in November. Rock Magic should get a good run from barrier 3 but has to carry the 59kg. Very excited to see Red Ora back and looking forward to seeing the sea of red jackets in the owners section of the grand stand.

I would have suggested Spangled Impact, but even her times were not fantastic looking towards a Karrakatta Plate. She would want to improve considerably. 2YO's need to be running low 1.05's over 1100M to be considered a threat in a KK. 1.07 on a track rate...

Well that's the reason I ask in the first place. But most years, the eventual good 2YO's and thereafter, haven't emerged by this time.

if its the best so far.. who is going to be the threat then Damien? I think Trademark might come on after its win a few weeks back.

agree regarding Spangled Impact. Maybe we haven't seen the best 2yo's come out to play yet?

In the 2YO race, they didn't break the minute, and the last 600M wasn't particularly fast either. So could any of the smarter types on here let me know if any 2YO's so far this season have impressed, or are they at this stage just a bit pedestrian ? I just kee...
