Western Gem is a promising horse for the Peters/Williams combination

Western Gem has won three of six starts and resumed with a good third to Full Clip here on Sep 6th, this horse does look to have her share of ability and the step up to 1650 metres appears to suit her, as it does with most of the Peters horses. The states top jockey William Pike pilots her once again and she does look the one to beat here, this isnt an overly strong city race at all. Western Gem probably gets back and could prove hard to hold out. She has run third on a dead track, it may be a case of looking for horses with form on dead or slow tracks in the latter half of the programme today. Vital Importance is impossible to follow, but we know her best is very good, and she does have slow track form to her credit, she looms as a good prospect on her best form. Paddys Flat followed a win at the midweeks with a pretty good run behind Blue Palace here two weeks ago and has run in some good races in the past, and Northpace always runs some sort of race as well, one for the first four punters to look at here.
