Another winner for Wolfey
Leading trainer Steve Wolfe thought enough of (12) PINS PERHAPS to push her through a WA Oaks campaign when last in work, and she showed she had returned to racing in good form when a luckless fourth in a rough-house affair first-up at Mt Barker 16/11. Up in grade here but she does drop to 54kg and should get a nice run in transit. Has strong each-way claims. (6) AMERICAN CAESAR comes out of the same race as (12) PINS PERHAPS and his effort was equally impressive, having to cover plenty of additional ground in running. He looks ready to peak third-up here. (4) TEE PEE CAT returns to Great Southern racing after an unplaced second-up run at Ascot 15/11, she looks much better placed here. (1) STAR OF CASSY was logged in the black book after her first-up run at Albany 2/11, but top weight and a wide barrier hinder her winning chances.
