Charging over the top
At around $7 I think Wild Charger is one of the better bets on the card, his Belmont Park form is excellent with 12 top 3 finishes from 17 starts. He has tackled much strong opposition than this over his career including fast finishing minor placings to Smoko, Thateldo and Trading Day. Has struggled his past two starts but given 3 weeks between runs and the right run by O'Donnell can certainly surprise most of these. Did beat McScar by 3.5 lengths last campaign and meets him 1kg better at the weights this time in. Surpark and McScar love it wet but the forecast is for relatively dry conditions, Ziva Star trialled almost 2 months ago and will have some pressure for the lead from Express Service, Surpark and potentially WA debutant Bombalatomba. Express Service's first-up record is woeful but is well weighted after the 3kg claim.
