Luciani on the hunt in Great Southern
Ascot trainer Dion Luciani is heading to the Great Southern for the first time this season and appears to have found a nice race to kick-start the career of Citidancer three-year-old (5) POLITICS. Has been sharpened up for this debut assignment with two Lark Hill 930m trials and he stripped much fitter when hitting the line well at his latest outing on 16/02. Drawn well with Jason Whiting on board and if he handles the float trip south then he should take some beating. (2) MY NAMES BRUCE was tipped out after placing on debut over last years Kalgoorlie Round, but is ready to return to the races after two okay barrier trials and he shouldnt miss a place. (7) AQUA TORIO is a heart-breaker for connections and punters alike but she still has come of the best formlines in a maiden that lacks depth, and look out for an improved showing from (6) SILVERTORIO, who looks better placed dropping back to the 1242m here.
