Operational is definitely showing signs of returning to his very best form which would see him mighty hard to hold out in this moderate 72+ event. Chased hard behind Dubai Escapade and off the back of a soft run behind a Zinger Burger Hot and Spicy tempo set by Dashing Dan Miller aboard Successful Spin and noted front running type Cougar Express I think at $13 he is worth an eachway ticket. The Forgotten One was only grinding behind Tonto last start but will be improved for his first career outing over a trip. Adam Durrant is the best trainer of stayers in the state and you can expect sharp improvement from him. Tonto broke his long run of outs with his first victory since 2013. Should get a cosy run up along the rails and can definitely go on with it here. Savanarola boasts the most attractive group of owners in the state however does find it hard to win at Ascot, with only 1 win from 10 starts. Couldn't get warm over 1800m in the Ascot Gold Cup but this should be a genuine test of staying ability with #GwanDanny running them along. Expecting a top half finish from the big blotchy grey.
