Snitzel Domination Continues
Dominating was able to accomplish what on paper looked to be an impossible task last start when defeating Trading Day. He was sent out as a short priced favourite and punters took the $2.20 on offer crunching him into even money, Dominating looked as though he was destined to finish second with a furlong to run but with Brad Parnham pulling the whip into the left hand he was able to draw away and win by almost a length at the finishing post. Steps up to a mile for the first time in his career which is the major concern and question mark over the Snitzel gelding however he loves Belmont Park with 5 wins and 3 minor placings from 9 starts at the track. He now boasts a 100% strike rate on a Slow-rated track and has won 3 from 4 on a Dead-rated track. Considering the rain that Perth received over the past 48 hours and the liklihood of further precipitation before Saturday the track is most likely to be around a Dead5 which should be right up his alley. At around $4.50 Dominating looks a decent eachway gamble. When We Were Kings has been ultimately out-classed this preparation coming up against the likes of Elite Belle before contesting the Strickland Stakes last weekend which was simply too long a journey. Dropping back to a mile and regaining the services of William Pike should see him a lot more competitive. Finished within a length of Elite Belle in the Group 3 Hyperion on June 14 and like Dominating is a 5-time Belmont Park winner. Tower of Lonhro is in career best form and will again be incredibly hard to beat. Top class race which looks like being run between the top 3 in the market.
