R3. Seacorp Handicap - 1 January 1970
|
Big Day Out
W.Pike could easily be 3 from 3 here with Rebelson perfectly placed by McAuliffe to record a well deserved win. I was a doubter when he contested the Mungrup Sprint over 1300m, thinking they would be too sharp for him but he certainly proved me wrong when sitting 3 deep throughout and still proving strong at the finish. Back to a mile looks ideal and I'm now happy to jump aboard. Carry The Nation is the obvious danger after chasing down Longma on a leader bias track coming from last. Drops to the minimum and it does look like a mile will suit him down to the ground. Quinella them and you should get a safe run for your money. Kalahaar is a classy galloper when right, yet to win beyond 1400m but should be ready for this.

USA racing is an experience Wizard. I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to visit Santa Anita and Belmont. I had a pleasant Sunday afternoon with the Mexicans and Puerto Ricans at Portland Meadows and had a great day with the bluebloods at Churchi...
