Set a good tempo when leading second-up at Bunbury 28/12 but just peaked on his run over the final stages to finish fifth. That maiden contained horses with some decent metro form lines and he only needs to improve marginally to win here. (7) RARE SELECTION looks likely to bounce, race on-pace and prove hard to run down in the straight. (2) CARBURETOR should be ready to peak after two good performances this campaign and he will appreciate stepping back up to 1200m here. Yet to run a bad race and is the obvious danger. (1) ENCOSTA LAS VEGAS has displayed promise in the past and kicked off his previous preparation with a third placing over 1400m at Northam 31/07/14. Look out for him running on strong late, and (12) GEMORIO is the interesting runner after recently being transferred to the Great Southern. Drawn the inside barrier and will carry only 53kg, so no surprise to see her thereabouts at the finish.
