Fathnoxious looks a very, very nice filly in the making and for that reason I'm happy to be aboard the Adam Durrant trained Red Amber. Simply couldn't accelerate with Fathnoxious last start but I don't think any of these gallopers could, she is too good. Red Amber ran a gallant second, beating Chocolate Moon home by 1.25L and meets him 1.5kg better at the weights on this occasion. Durrants other stayer by Dylan Thomas is Gladstone who gets the journey with ease suggesting Red Amber's breeding should see out the trip. Pike aboard and she did run second to Balmont Girl as a 3 year old in the Listed Natasha Stakes over 2200. Ticks enough boxes for me to be aboard. Big old southern trained gelding Insurgency is my second selection, now a 10 year old but capable of surprising a few of these younger opponents. With a nice soft suck up run behind the speed he can run a cheeky race at odds. Second up was beaten 1.75 behind Kheleva, pretty handy form for a race like this. Good record at Belmont and over this distance, well worth a few places at around $8. Chocolate Moon can improve with the Pontiff aboard and ridden back in the field.

I would understand that comment IF OB had drawn further out than barrier 5,but barrier1 is the last thing you would instruct your rider to do!Mr M Campbell, you have alot of explaining to do!

Shame about the weather (mid to late arvo) for the meeting, but seemed like there was a pretty good crowd on hand and all seemed in good spirits - the club need one or two more of these 'days' throughout the Belmont season, as the three country specific 'days'...
