Another McAuliffe Ruler?

Selections

.

The Universal Ruler stock are beginning to blossom and nobody has more of them then Darren McAuliffe, obviously his star 2 year old Rebel King is flying the flag for the first-season sire but Versed Remedy and Wednesday winner Rule to Wyn have impressed. Military Ruler was very sharp on debut over 1200m behind Halo Express when marching wide from the 600m and coming down the middle of the track to finish 4th beaten 2 lengths. Winkers and Pike go on for this second up assault and having drawn perfectly in barrier 2 he should be given the run of the race by WA's best hoop. Expecting Keysbrook to be fairly short; blind betting here because as I write this preview from my Sydney Hotel there are no fixed markets available for the 2 year olds race. On my own prices I have Military Ruler at $6 and Keysbrook at $2.70, hoping to see Military Ruler at an eachway quota. In terms of suggested betting I've just had a little nibble eachway. Keysbrook is the deserving favourite having never missed the top two in her 4 start career, bridesmaid on three occasions. Dropping back from a mile to 1400 she will be extrememly hard to hold out. Anything above $3 and I'd be on her. War Ksar was disappointing first up when heavily supported in the market, expecting a bold showing at potentially the $8/9 mark second up with a 4kg weight relief.
