Back W.Pike to win - that's the Universal Law of WA racing at the present. He is simply superior to all challengers and looks like he will safely chase down Paul Harvey's record of 116.5 metro winners in a season, an incredible feat. Universal Law was excellent last start showing his electric turn of foot and appreciation for the long Belmont straight. Undefeated after 3 runs at the track and soon to be 4 from 4, he looks a standout. Sasso's Circus will chase hard but looks like he will be running for second. Another Vision was scratched from an easier assignment on Wednesday to be saved for this. Her runs against the top class of mares in the state this preparation have all been good and she can fill a hole in the first 4. Again much like last week, no love for Gloryland who seems to have found a niche at Pinjarra, a noted front runners track and will again struggle to even run a place here.

Due to Baraki Beats poor form on rain effected ground, perhaps the stewards are concerned that connections thought there was no point going forward and pressuring the stablemate Gigante. I have no problem with that as long as punters are informed of the change...

From the stewards report:BARAKI BEATS – Raced wide for the majority of the event. Had a tendency to lay outwards throughout running. Jockey R. Hill was questioned in relation to the gelding racing in a rearward position today as compared to its normal racing...

Was there some dramatic betting fluctuations in some of the races from this program ? I'm told Stewards have adjourned an inquiry into Race 6. Wasn't the move in the price from just $9 to $8 ?

Yes Saxy can be in the finish. My selection is (not normally one of mine) Verdello Blue It is ready to run a race up in distance with the claim and is a great each way bet. Quinella it and Saxy Grace.
