Strips Fitter - Scary

Selections

A very good horseman said to me in the mounting yard at Ascot that Cool Passion was carrying a few extra kilos first-up and would strip considerably fitter second up. Considering how impressive she was that's a scary proposition. She should jump straight onto the bunny and rail up nicely for Lucy Warwick who is a noted front running jockey. From there she controls and is the hardest to beat by far. Happy to play her even at the shorts. King River won 2 from 2 as a juvenile and is a rare Bob Peters gelding purchase, he normally only buys fillies for breeding purposes so to pay over $200 000 for King River is a bold investment. King River has two younger half brothers both by More Than Ready who sold for $400 000 and $260 000, an expensive family. His trials this preparation suggest he may return to his very best and looks the testing material. Max Almighty arrives at his third stable after a preparation with Adam Durrant. His first-up record is sound and there is no denying his ability. Only won 1 from 16 but is much better than that.

They should have got the Antonov to land there. Can you believe 20,000 people turned out to watch a routine landing ? Nothing routine about it!

The Italian nonnas didn't turn up with their home made arancini balls and zeppole. Not much of a turn out by the Italian community. Don't blame them. Just some commercial food stalls. Day lacked character. PR shooting itself in the foot again. NFI.

Anyone on course ? It sounds quiet on radio............... Damien the crowd was ok but I think the Italian day thing was better attended whether they were punters or not. The Italians are a passionate type of people and I think the day should be reinstated ...
