Keeping with Koutou
Kia Ora Koutou has been excellent in all 3 runs this preparation and has a crack at the older gallopers in this 72+ 2200m. If he is as good as Adam Durrant thinks and if he is to have any realistic chance at taking aim towards the VRC Derby then he simply must win this. Drawn to get a soft run in barrier 1 yet again Azzopardi's biggest issue will be getting clear running room on the gelding. He looks a real 2200m horse and I think this will be 4 from 4 for Kia Ora Koutou. Drive West is a hard one to catch and returns from a fast finishing fourth in the Kalgoorlie Cup, he should be there abouts as always. Old Aussie Battler Insurgency, the 11 year old, should give a genuine sight at big odds carrying only 54kg.
