R1. Westspeed Nursery - 1 January 1970
|
Improved Display Expected
Secret Display made strong ground behind Rebel King along the fence on debut when finishing second beaten 1.25 lengths. At his second career appearance he was pushed forwards from barrier 15 and sat three deep for most of the trip, fading to finish a very respectable 6th within 3 lengths of the winner. Military Ruler who also endured a tough run that day and finished fourth came out and posted yet another Impressive Racing Universal Ruler victory. Dropping back from 7 furlongs to 1200 should be in his favour and given a softer run in transit care of a smaller field he should find the line strongly again. Hellyer hails from the all conquering Adam Durrant stable however, they have struggled with 2 year old runners this season. He was well supported in the markets first up and produced a "Mailman" special burning his supporters. Can improve off that effort and no surprise to see him winning. Angel Sky is a well bred daughter of Hurricane Sky out of Danny Morton's Scenic racemare Jacita who won at 4 of her 5 career starts for owners Smith and Galante who retain ownership in this filly. William Pike retains the mount after an encouraging debut, may be one to follow.
