Soldier's will be saluting
The opening event of the day looks a race in two with (2) INSURGENCY and (3) SOLDIER'S SALUTE almost certain to fight this one out. The pair faced off over 1850m at Mt Barker 8/02 with (3) SOLDIER'S SALUTE finishing 1-1/2 lengths ahead but (2) INSURGENCY does have a 1kg swing in the weights here. All things considered and we have placed (3) SOLDIER'S SALUTE on top, with his last two runs being full of merit and the drop back to 1632m is in his favour. Should also be able to lead comfortably and control the race from there. (2) INSURGENCY got jammed up on the fence last start and couldnt quite get fully wound up, and his form in this company beforehand was first class. Will give his followers a big run for their money. (5) CESTRINUS, who is having his first start for the Bruce Thomas stable, is building towards something and should have finished a lot closer than he did last start after being held up behind heels in the straight. Much better than his current 54 rating suggests, and were expecting comeback stayer (1) IMPERIAL COMMAND to improve significantly third-up over the mile here.
