Can Ora Dare catch the Grey?

Verdello Blue has an impeccable record at Belmont Park, missing the money at only 8 of his 25 runs at the track. With in-form apprentice Lucy Warwick aboard the grey Knowledge gelding will carry 51kg, a career low weight. He is in good form and will roll straight to the top and prove the one to run down. I'm sticking with Ora Dare and expecting a genuinely run race which should suit him down to the ground. Beat Verdello Blue last year by 4.25 lengths however there is a marked swing in the weights, 8.5kg in favour of Verdello Blue this time in. Ora Dare has won 2 of his past 4, 50% of his Belmont starts and 6 times at 2000m plus and is headed towards the 2014/15 Perth Cup. Was caught flat footed in a muddlingly, slow run race when Fancy Feet and Operational got the better of Paterson tactically. Banjo gets a chance to repay the faith here and I'd expect him to go very close. Fancy Feet bagged her first Group level race by winning the Strickland Stakes last week, Emma Stent brings her down to 58kg but that is still the most she's ever carried. Will need to be at her best to win considering she conceeds Ora Dare 4kg from their last encounter. True Gold was my on top selection last Saturday over a mile at $21, Glenn Smith got into a traffic jam as they rounded the corner and rode for luck, once he saw daylight over the final 200m he was flying. The step up to 2100m should suit and Pike taking the mount is a positive. Pike has ridden him 4 times for 1 win and 3 placings. He should give a good account at double figures again.
