Classy WA filly Tuscan Queen might have run her last race. Tuscan Queen won both the WA Oaks and WATC Derby (2400m) in recent weeks but the Fastnet Rock filly has sustained a tendon injury. Perth broadcaster TAB Radio reported Tuscan Queen has a tear in a deep flexor tendon, which requires a minimum of 12 months off the scene. Racing and Wagering WA journalist Julio Santarelli reported the extent of the damage was discovered when vets operated on the three-year-old. Vets initially treated Tuscan Queen with ice and anti-inflammatory medication but the problem failed to settle, which prompted the surgery. Owner Bob Peters had the Caulfield and Melbourne Cups in mind for Tuscan Queen in the spring. TAB had Tuscan Queen as a $26 chance in Caulfield Cup betting.

  • Pretty sure the greyhound track won't be going inside the current trackThe way the trotting industry is going if they wait a while they could use the main track.

  • Capital outlay average would be significantly higher for the Hall stable. As stated before Bonds do take them where they can win and don't just chase metro stakes hence Warwick leading Hall in the premiership. Greg Bond started in Kalgoorlie and lov…
  • What would happen to  clubs like Leonora, leinster, Laverton, kojo, meeka, etc  predominately non-tab fixtures, the new owners won't operate on a feelgood for these centres re-distributions,or is there been something put in concrete for these clubs?.…

  • Where they the "red" ones? I remember red and blue and was told very firmly, very early on never to mix them up or else I would go to jail haha. They were euphemistically referred to as "constitutional Balls'....I'm thinking the red balls probably c…
  • Spot on @savethegame Fed  a small tablespoon of nux vomica regularly, ground up with gentian powder, bought them onto their tucker like nothing else, they loved the bitterness and mixed up with boiled barley and molasses, well, they licked their fee…
  • Friday, 16 December 2016 Racing and Wagering WA (RWWA) and Carl Coady have agreed to bring his contract of employment to an end effective today.A matter recently came to RWWA’s attention in relation to a failure to properly inform the General Manage…
  • ^^ wish they still had those days.... :(( Wouldn't it be something if some of the old school had a session to talk about some of the old tricks SOME of you got up to.
  • Pretty smelly to me : 1. Smith lets Weir train at his property in the lead up  2. Smith horse gets eased up and what do you know the Weir horse wins Umm ok. It was a million dollar race, even pumper would do his best to win for that money.
  • Because it was $1,000,000 race is why there is all this fuss. You can go through replays every meeting and say if the jock did this or that it would have won.Punters know the risk when they have a bet but it is always someone else's fault if they get…
  • If he stuffed up or not it is history and I are sure it was a honest mistake on his part if at all.It is great to read the comments of most of you here on this topic and knowing that you are so perfect that you have NEVER made a mistake in your enti…
  • Wow Rex, you haven't watched Fred junior too closely. I am not bagging Fred as he is a beginner. I don't expect much. "he hasn't done much wrong" is a stretch. He's ridden some shockers. He absolutely slaughtered one at Esperance. I wish him well an…
  • I have watched Fred Kersley in his trials and think that he has a huge future if he keeps his head down and doesn't get up to smartass tricks or misled. He has in my opinion improved as he has gone along and in the week he has had his license to rid…
  • Starglow was a good mare, but no better than Belindas Star or Burgess Queen, IMO quite a few of those should be culled from the list; La Trice was more famous for losing a Railway not winning one. I was a huge fan of Starglow. I thought she was rea…

  • Maybe it is easier to train horses than some owners.
  • What we need on the board are punters and bookmakers. Racing revolves around gambling.... Where are the punters and bookmakers now. They have been driven away by poor administration that have stuffed the industry. Have a look at the number of bookma…
  • Falcon,Kim Rose is a fantastic bloke had a lot of dealings with him (Unfortunatly but he is a vet ) knows a lot about the industry Can't agree any more Chelsea. I have known Kim Rose for many years and found him to be a person that loves racing and…
  • always good to hear of the big stables from over east bringing runners to perth for our carnival Even better when one or two of them arrive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even better if the money stays here.
  • After the vanilla essence fiasco i used to sniff it before i went for a run..... Made no difference ;) I switched to chocolate ice cream to break the drug habit and can no longer use Vicks Vapor rub for colds. No wonder the game is stuffed.
  • They are both excellent horse trainers and good people. What were the positive swabs to? I stand to be corrected but I don't think any were drug related were they?
  • I think Randell Prowse is actually a good driver for a amateur who does not drive often. He drove a winner in June 2011 at Northam and one in 2014 from only a handful a year. Was a better than average footballer as well. Captained Thornlie in the S…
  • Close but not right. Last clue. The family home was in Belmont opposite the old Sandringham Hotel. Wilson?
  • Doesn't time fly. Back in the 65 cup I was lucky enough to strap Fairs Print. He was a lovely animal but had dreadfull legs that prevented him going east. Was ridden by a top rider in Peter O'loghlen who wasted hard to ride at 7 stone 10 and was a m…
  • Fran Gammon trained, David Rudland rode Think it was Reg Tucker trained from memory. Fran trained Muros to win the cup when she trained from Mt Barker.
