R1. Westspeed Nursery Handicap - Gary Wright
There is no substitute for race form amongst the two year olds and Thateldo certainly has that on his rivals here, from four starts he has been in the money on all occasions and altough rising slightly in weight can get punters off to a winning start here. Chris Parnham takes the ride and claims 2kgs and should hopefully be able to get Thateldo across from his wide draw, where he can control the race from the front, or near the front of the field. Sanctitude has certainly been well schooled in trials, he looks to have ability having been placed in those trials, has his first race start today and look for a good showing from him. Another first starter in Cadiz has also run a couple of promising trials and could run into the money today, and Scampin has run two good races in maidens at Northam recently and looks the best of the others here.
1. THATELDO - 6. SANCTITUDE - 8. CADIZ
SUGGESTED BET - 1. THATELDO $40

Park Lane is a freewheeling frontrunner who ran them off their legs last week here at Belmont, can he back up after a week, and can he carry 1.5kgs more than last week, the questions to be answered here, and maybe this field has a little more depth to it as well. On his current form he will still be the on top selection today, and can hopefully give promising apprentice Chanelle O'Grady another winner. Flying Time does have to carry the grandstand here and isnt very well drawn, which is the reason he isnt the selection in this race, but the Harvey factor offsets those negatives somewhat, he should still run a good race. True Storm is very consistent, in fact never out of a place after seven starts, and she is well drawn for Chris Parnham, another good ride for him here. Topper's Halo ran a good race when returning to the track posting a first up victory, must be respected also as must Al Faisal, a last start winner, a very even race coming up here.
1. PARK LANE - 2. FLYING TIME - 4. TRUE STORM
Another open race here but you should get each way prices on whatever you invest in. Keep On Dancin was slected in this column at her last start, it may pay to forget she went around that day, was help up all the way down the straight and never got a run at them, her previous form was pretty good, once again another good ride for Chris Parnham here, and she should get a nice run from the inside barrier position, she is possibly one to have a small wager on each way. Magnificent Pair will be looking for a pair of victories today, she was a good winner here three weeks ago but does rise 4.5kgs on that effort today, and hasnt been dealt any favours with the draw. Metallica is also a last start winner and another of the main chances, once again a poor draw may just hinder her chances a little. Angel Wing rounds out the major players, she has been going quite nicely of late.
5. KEEP ON DANCIN' - 1. METALLICA - 4. MY LOVELY LOVELY
SUGGESTED BET - 5. KEEP ON DANCIN' $15 x $15
Helena Miss showed enormous potential early in her career, I can still remember her winning at Northam by the length of the straight, but victories have been scarce since those early days. However her last two starts have shown she may be about to break the long drought, she was just caught on the line at her last start by Media Alert after attempting to lead all the way. Similar tactics will probably be adopted here today from a good barrier draw, and hopefully for her followers she just might hang on to break a 280 day drought between wins. November Red may be a danger, he isnt racing as well as he did in previous campaigns, but he has also been racing mainly in stronger City company during that time, he came home strongly in the same race as Helena Miss raced in last start, looks more suited to midweek company at this stage of his career. Endless Time is a consistent horse, drawn well for Paul Harvey here, her last start was a good second to Miss Radler who ran well here last Saturday. Hecacity is certainly another with some chance after a good last start win at Pinjarra.
5. HELENA MISS - 6. NOVEMBER RED - 9. ENDLESS TIME
SUGGESTED BET - 5. HELENA MISS $20
Fairly Wild and Excellency bring winning form into this race, a very hard race to pick with such a large field not helping matters either. Both are drawn wide in this race also. Will go for Fairly Wild, she did beat Excellently home at their last meeting at Northam on Jun 27, but its probably fair to say Excellently has improved since then. However the form line of Fairly Wild is hard to fault, her last start she was a winner here beating the promising Luwain that day, so she just gets the nod here today. Excellently the big danger, has raced very well this time in and should go well again today. Futurism has been up for a long time but continues to race well, she wasnt far off Miss Radler last start here two weeks ago, and a roughie may be Saxon's Patch, still a maiden but has run a couple of nice races at Pinjarra at her last two starts.
6. FAIRLY WILD - 5. EXCELLENTLY - 2. FUTURISM
SUGGESTED BET - 6. FAIRLY WILD $25
Rive Gauche appears one of the main hopes in this distance race today, he just failed last start at Pinjarra and may go one better this afternoon. He has been a little up and down in this state but on his best form looks as good a chance as anything here. He has drawn well so they may elect to lead again or sit in a forward position from the good draw, and the 2100 metres poses no problems for this galloper. He's Henry has been racing quite well, but has struggled to get over the line first, he was only a length off the winner Master Robson at his latest outing and once again will carry a light weight today. Leggy Blonde always runs a pretty good race, she has also been close up in recent starts and will appreciate a weaker field here. Shoot For Glory is another that finds it hard to win but can be about the place for novelty punters here, and Ultimate Success has drawn wide but probably gets back anyway, another with claims in an open distance race..
1. RIVE GAUCHE - 8. HE'S HENRY - 2. LEGGY BLONDE
State Form was a most consistent galloper when last in work, but has run a place first up previously, and will represent good each way value at his first start back in this campaign today, another very difficult race to predict anything with any certainty, but maybe a small each way investment could be the go. This isnt an overly strong field and on his previous form he may be chance at the 1400 metres whilst fresh. The Parnham pair look the other main chances in this race, Right Honourable and Executive Action have been running reasonable races in this sort of company over the winter. Right Honourable won here two starts ago, possibly a little disappointing last start and the wide draw wont help here at all, but will probably try to cross and lead the field again today. Executive Action won here last week at good odds and must be a chance once again in this race. He's Starkers hasnt recaprured his early form that saw him win at his first three starts but if finding some of that form looms as a chance also.
5. STATE FORM - 7. RIGHT HONOURABLE - 6. EXECUTIVE ACTION
SUGGESTED BET - 5. STATE FORM $10 x $10
King Casanova was very impressive when winning at his first race start here a fortnight ago, the fact he beat home Quokka that day speaks volumes for his ability, and also the fact he started at only $5.00 that day as well. He does rise to 60kgs here, not many horses would have carried that impost at their second race start, but most of the opposition are lumbered with big weights here also. Jarrod Noske hops back on board today after riding this horse in his trials, hopefully he can get him across early from a pretty wide draw and if so King Casanova might make it two from two here. Flytego can improve on a first up eighth here two weeks ago, drawn very well and he did run some good races in the Autumn. Milo's Secret has been impressive in easier company, this is certainly his biggest test to date, another drawn wide here, but can make his presence felt with a little luck in running, and Black Blast may also go well, getting into the veteran stage these days but should get a good run for Glenn Smith from this nice draw in the big field.
2. KING CASANOVA - 1. FLYTEGO - 5. MILO'S SECRET
SUGGESTED BET - 2. KING CASANOVA $25
I do like one at a price today. R4 has 3 or 4 faves of which none look enough convincing to me and I am willing to take them on. I think Paramour can get in the money here, spelled for 6 months, then trialled twice and improved to win last out, a handy 3rd for first race proper and drops 4kgs here (admittedly higher class of race). If Jazz can time his run right he could get a cheque here. There is plenty against him, trainer not really going great, no one knows his best distance but if he can improve on last out, we'll see.
hey mate I think your out by 1 number
I see what you mean, sorry to explain, 4 kgs difference between this race and last. 52kgs today, 56kgs last out.
How ya doing Ricardo?
I am full of the flu but apart from that going ok champ , you ?
Loads of people crook at the minute, s'not right. (see what I did there?)
I am doing fine, working hard actually and my punting has been appalling. Belmont last Saturday I bet on 6 races and had a single collect on a place. [-(
Anyways, we can't win every meet.
TOPPER'S HALO
